Fermoy Estate is a premium winery in Western Australia. The vineyard, established in 1985, produced its first vintage in 1988 and their winemakers have not looked back since. They have garnered a reputation for producing wines of amazing quality over the last 30 years.
Gianfranco and Francesca Anderle fell in love with Margaret River when they first visited the region in 2000. Carpe Diem, meaning ‘seize the day’ was exactly what they did … returning to Italy, selling their assets and returning to Wilyabrup in 2001 to start their new venture.
This winery is a bit of a hike out of Busselton, twenty kilometres due south into an area that is the same latitude as Vasse Felix with identical soil and terrior. The vineyard (12 acres) was acquired in 2003 and planted in 2004 and 2005.
These have been personally selected following a visit to over 80 boutique wineries in the Margaret River this year. They are for tasting purposes only by professional sommeliers and cannot be sold or used for any other purpose.
Wills Domain is home to the Haunold family, father to son vignerons since 1383. Their heritage is Austrian and they now call 60 hectares in Western Australia’s renown Margaret River wine region home, and multi- generational family member Darren Haunold at the reins.
This winery is off the beaten track and only open one day a week is run by winemaker Mick Scott whose father and uncle first established the winery 2004. Mick studied winemaking at university and honed his craft at vineyards in France and Australia. The vineyard was certified organic in 2017 and 100% of the fruit from the 2018 vintage onwards will be classified organic.
Heydon Estate is a boutique, family-owned and operated wine producer located in the heart of Wilyabrup in the Margaret River wine region. All wines are from the estate’s 10-hectare single vineyards which produce some of the area’s finest Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Brookwood Estate was established in 1996 by husband and wife Trevor and Lyn Mann as part of a semi- retirement plan to just grow grapes but very quickly Trevor and Lyn decided to try their hand at winemaking and have not looked back since.
Cape Naturaliste was a real find. In a valley blessed with a rich variety of soil types and a maritime location, that are ideal conditions for the growing of premium wine with great character and depth.
